Orbit Media 51 is a corporate office for an advertising and design agency located in Calgary, Alberta. The agency thrives on creativity, collaboration, and modern digital storytelling, with a “work hard, play hard” culture at its core. The goal was to create a workplace that feels energetic and engaging while still supporting productivity, focus, and day-to-day workflow.

The design balances the heritage character of the existing building with contemporary, playful elements that reflect the agency’s identity. Warm materials and textured surfaces help preserve a sense of history and comfort, while a vibrant pastel palette, flexible informal meeting areas, and interactive touchpoints bring freshness into the space. A continuous circulation track becomes a signature feature, promoting movement, casual interaction, and a subtle sporty aesthetic that reinforces the agency’s playfulness.

Developed during the second semester of second year, the project strengthened my ability to design an interconnected workplace system rather than isolated rooms. Planning decisions were informed by how the agency operates day to day, translating workflow into clear adjacencies, varied work settings, and a furniture strategy built around system furniture and modular workstation planning.
